My Monday posts are typically all fashion related, but today I wanted to switch it up and talk about our honeymoon in Greece! It was an incredible trip, and I want to relive it! Daniel and I went to Santorini for a week, and Athens for 2 days.
In Santorini, we stayed at Ikies. We stayed in the Captain's House. It's a beautiful house with a living room, bathroom, and bedroom. It has a HUGE balcony with a private pool on the balcony. Daniel and I never wanted to leave!! We swam in our private pool every morning when we woke up, ordered room service for almost every meal, ate on our balcony, and then watched the sunset on the lounge bed on our balcony. We really mastered the lazy honeymoon vibe. We stayed in the town Oia in Santorini. Oia is known for being the spot for honeymooners. It's quiet and has the best views of the sunset.
Daniel really mastered the "instagram husband" title on this trip.
We went on a private 7 mile hike with a tour guide while we were in Santorini. I highly suggest this if you're ever there. You get to see several towns in Santorini, and you get to learn about life in Greece. I loved our tour guide! She was so sweet and told us so much history of the towns we were walking through. Also! THOSE VIEWS!
Daniel and I toured a vineyard and took a cooking class while we were in Santorini as well. The vineyards in Santorini are very different then what you'd typically think of. The grapes grow low to the ground in circular baskets. We got to taste several different wines, and then learn how to make a full meal. Daniel and I had never taken a cooking class before. Daniel is the chef of the house, so he really enjoyed it!
We flew to Athens at the end of our trip. We weren't there for long at all, so we took a private tour of the city and we had a driver. This is the way to go!!! We saw EVERYTHING! We were able to drive all over the city, and hop out with our tour guide when we got to a historic location. Daniel and I were in awe of this city. I could have easily stayed in Athens for a solid month. Our driver was so sweet and our tour guide was so informative. We took a break halfway through the tour and the 4 of us got coffee and chatted for a while. It was awesome to get to hang out with locals and learn about life in Greece. I love history, so I was a huge nerd asking so many questions to our tour guide. I couldn't believe I was actually seeing all of this stuff in person. I still can't believe Daniel and I went on this trip!
Greece was always a dream trip for me. It takes forever to get there, but it is so incredibly worth it. Daniel and I had such a relaxing time. The past few months have been an incredible whirlwind. Daniel and I almost can't believe everything we've done in the past couple months!
Daniel's dream vacation spot is Australia, so I guess we'll have to head there one day since we checked my dream spot off the list!
See you next time!
